Hi, and welcome to Mark Waid’s blog.
If you’re here, I’m gonna presume you’re already passingly familiar with my resume, so here are the highlights: have written comics (like KINGDOM COME, FANTASTIC FOUR, EMPIRE and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN) for more than two decades; have been a publisher, an editor, a production monkey, and everything in between in the comics field; and am currently Editor-In-Chief at BOOM! Studios, comic-book publishers of THE INCREDIBLES and other Pixar/Disney comics, THE MUPPET SHOW, HEXED, and many other fine titles.
We’ll be updating this blog with fresh material every day, so set a bookmark or your RSS feed. There’ll be weekly vlogs, podcasts, rants, writing edumacation, special guests, and other surprises. Also feel free to stop by the Mark Waid forums here, where friends like Gail Simone, Kurt Busiek, Tom Brevoort, Jimmy Palmiotti, Cully Hamner and many of my other pals hang out with me.
To inaugurate the blog, we’re going make available online the first issue of the POTTER’S FIELD mini-series that I did through BOOM! with artist Paul Azaceta. POTTER’S FIELD is a detective series that follows the cases of a mysterious man, known only as John Doe, who is disturbed by the alarming number of anonymous crime victims routinely buried on New York’s Hart Island. He’s vowed to investigate each case, believing that no one should have to go to his grave without a name.
Art by Azaceta, colors by Nick Fillardi, lettering by Ed Dukeshire. If you like what you see here, be sure to pick up the one-shot sequel POTTER’S FIELD: STONE COLD in March!
See you Thursday!
